Can we turn this into a thread where we can vote on banning 'Uguu~' from the forum?

Can we turn this into a thread where we can vote on banning 'Uguu~' from the forum?Changed the thread title and added a poll as per request. :P

I didn't request this at all! I was specifically talking about Uguu! Way to twist my words, Jiggy.

The only allowed meme shall be Octokitty!

Nah, memes are a waste of posts and don't belong on this forum.

This is probably a joke thread anyway, so don't take it too seriously, Rotanibor. :P

I wasn't being serious at all! I was just joking around! Way to misread my post, Jiggy.

Meme's are unfortunately part of internet culture. People like to joke, and they'll repeat what they think is funny. I don't think banning memes would do much good.

Maybe there should be a thread content quota so that no thread may contain more than 5% memes! I don't know how you would enforce this properly, but at least it doesn't totally keep people from being "current" with web culture.

On the other hand, really annoying memes should be dropped as quickly as possible, and mods can decide which ones. I don't have any to list off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are many that some of us would never wish to see again.

Pay attention to what's happening in the forums, and if a meme gets out of hand, just post a sticky that explains banned memes. Simple as that!

No need to create or even stamp out memes before they happen. Memes can't be forced; they evolve when someone says/does something humorous (as Crowe said)

Really though the only reasons I see to ban a meme is if it is either offensive, really stupid and annoying, or posted so much it just overwhelms the forum. We haven't had to deal with one yet so its probably best to just not even worry about it yet.
